Please donate to help fund the start up of a farm to feed the hungry and to educate Pacific Islanders to become self sufficient.
My wife and I are in the beginning stages of this long term project. We will create a food forest in The Pacific Rim to give food to impoverished people and teach them how to provide for themselves.
We have a proven farm plan based on the permaculture concepts laid forth by Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton. This style of farming is polycultural (grow more than one kind of plant) and sustainable. Once established these farms produce their own mulch, fertilizers, and pest control management. Not only will the farm produce perennial fruits and vegetables, legumes, fodder and spices, but small animals (fish, chickens, and goats) for protein and timber/bamboo used in conjunction with reused materials (plastic 55 gallon food drums) for construction of community buildings, homes, and boats to be used for oceanic fishing. Some of the excess production can be sold or traded for additional sources of income.
This project is to serve as a platform for teaching indigenous peoples how to establish their own farm systems on their native islands and hectarage. My wife and I will staff this location once established and remain on-site to teach this sustainable style of farming.
We need funding to purchase land, seed, inoculates, seedlings and simple tools. The initial estimate for this project is $142,546. USD.
Any amount you can spare will be put towards this project. Even small amounts can make a big difference!
Thank you for your consideration. |
